Welcome to the LVRC Website

Welcome to the LVRC Website

The League of Veteran Racing Cyclists provides racing for cyclists who are 40 years of age or more; the League is open equally to male and female bike racers. Don't worry if you think you aren't fit enough to race - in the LVRC you are always allowed (encouraged, in fact) to compete in an older age group than your calendar age indicates, to help people get back into racing, and move up the groups as fitness builds. The only exception to this is National Championships and Percy Stallard Series races.

 IMPORTANT MESSAGE FROM NATIONAL REGISTRAR

Our online membership program includes a payment processing module that is generally invisible to members using the service.  This company has advised us of a development in online security procedures that may affect some members that have yet to renew online for the forthcoming season..  The following is an extract from their advisory.  It may be of course that you have received similar advice from other payment handlers in the normal course of your daily life with other organisations.

Quote:

All major internet browsers (e.g. Chrome, Internet Explorer, Firefox) are changing the way that they validate website security certificates to ensure the highest security level for users when making payments. As a result of this change, you may see security warnings (e.g. browser errors, security certificate warnings) on your web browsers when using a secure website. This will only happen if the website you are visiting is using an older security certificate.

To address this issue, the majority of payment gateways and online banking web sites are updating web certificates for all payment pages and forms.

This change will not impact the majority of shoppers apart from a small fraction who are using very outdated browsers on old computers. These shoppers will not be able to transact on any payment processing or online banking facility which has made these industry-wide changes.
If you are impacted by this change, you simply need to upgrade to an up to date internet browser which is strongly recommended to address this issue as well as for a number of other security and usability reasons.

Unquote.

Thank you for your attention to this issue.
